Styrofoam Pickup for Recycling

Island Junk Solutions helps keep styrofoam out of the landfill with quick, reliable residential and commercial pick-ups

Keep Styrofoam Out of the Landfill

Styrofoam is lightweight, but it takes up an awful lot of space in your garage or storage area. It’s also not accepted in curbside recycling in the Capital Regional District (CRD) or Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN). Not to worry — Island Junk Solutions offers styrofoam pickup so you can clear the clutter without making special trips to a depot.

We collect clean, dry foam packaging from homes and businesses and deliver it to approved facilities, where it’s compacted and processed into materials used to make new products, like picture frames, moulding, or park benches.

What We Accept

In both the CRD and RDN, Styrofoam can only be recycled through designated depots. We accept block foam from appliance and electronics packaging, foam coolers, and certain take-out containers that meet local recycling requirements. If you have a mix of recyclable and non-recyclable foam, no need to separate it — we’ll take care of that before drop-off. You can remove tape and labels from the styrofoam before pickup, but it isn’t necessary.
