Fence Removal
Let Island Junk Solution tear down your old fence and haul it away, safely and quickly.
Preparing for a Fence Removal Project
A fence that’s leaning, rotting, or falling apart does more than spoil your view. It takes up space, blocks sunlight, and even creates safety hazards. Island Junk Solutions takes care of the heavy work of getting rid of that old fence, from dismantling it to hauling every last piece away. Whether you need to get rid of a rotting wood fence, broken chain link fencing, or large panels of wood, metal, plastic, vinyl, or any other material, proper prep makes the job faster, safer, and easier.
Identify the Fence Materials
Before we arrive, we’ll need to know what your fence is made of. Wood, chain link, and composite all require different handling. Pressure-treated lumber, common in older fences, must be disposed of carefully under Capital Regional District (CRD) and Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) regulations due to the chemicals used. Knowing the materials ahead of time speeds up disposal and helps keep costs predictable.
Prepare the Site for Removal
Clear away any shrubs, garden décor, or obstacles near the fence line so our crew can work efficiently. If you’re keeping part of the fence or reusing hardware, mark those sections. We generally cut old posts as low as possible to the concrete base so you can stagger new fence posts. If you’d like, we can include concrete removal in our quote.
Recycling and Disposal Options
Our goal is to keep as much as possible out of the landfill while leaving you with a clear boundary ready for its next project. Whenever possible, we recycle old fencing. Wood that’s untreated and free of paint can be reused or chipped into mulch. Metal posts, gates, and other components are taken to approved recycling facilities. We now recycle treated lumber and have upgraded and outfitted our yard to enable separation in line with CRD and RDN requirements.
